Drop Box: For on the cloud backup

Backup is a word you always hear while working with computers. Everybody has important files we want to protect whether it be a confidential file from  a corporate work or the pictures of our families and friends.

But what does it mean to have a backup, many people are content with making a copy of the folder that they want to protect on the same Pc but speaking from experience that is not very safe. Your files will be gone from a single virus attack, theft, fire or some hard disk failure, and believe me its not a question whether your hard disk will fail but a question of when.

If your files are really important, don't backup on the same computer but on the internet using Dropbox.

from their site they say

Your life's work, wherever you are.

Dropbox is a free service that lets you bring all your photos, docs, and videos anywhere. This means that any file you save to your Dropbox will automatically save to all your computers, phones and even the Dropbox website. Dropbox also makes it super easy to share with others, whether you're a student or professional, parent or grandparent. Even if you accidentally spill a latte on your laptop, have no fear! You can relax knowing that Dropbox always has you covered, and none of your stuff will ever be lost.

You will have to download the software and sign up after that you can access the files wherever you are try it. If you are concerned with privacy issues you can always encrypt your files with truecrypt.
