Launchy: Launch application with ease

I'm a lazy person so if there is a way I can do things easier I will find a way to do it even if the effort is not worth the trouble and  it would have been much easier just to do things manually. Not in the case of lauchy, an open source application launcher for windows.

If you ever need to launch a program like word just hit alt + enter type word  and if it found it just hit Enter and walla. You might think that it would be easier to click on an icon on your desktop and be done with it, you might be right, that is assuming you have an shortcut of word in your desktop. If you don't you have to go to start  > programs > office > word then hit Enter or if the program does not have an entry there you have to go to Explorer > directory of office ex. c:\ > Program files > microsoft office\ > word  > then click or enter.

It's great for files too, just type a few words and you would easily launch the application to open it,that is if you include it in your catalog files on the settings menu.I use it as a juke box, added all my mp3 files type a few words and it will launch VLC media player and start playing. You can even use it to search google or add custom sites on it's weby plugin.

It has many practical uses but one down side is that if you catalog large file collections and it will bog down the system a little so either set the updating manually, copy all the shortcuts and put it in a single folder or just catalog only your important files. But one thing I can say my windows machine will always have this great application launcher.
